Camels being transported in Taxi Trucks was a common sight on the old Abu Dhabi Road in early 1980s.
Most were on their way to the Slaughter House. These are well protected with blankets so maybe newly purchased racing camels being transported to their new Owners.
Dubai to Abu Dhabi Road was yet to be renamed Sheikh Zayed Road and still only a two lane highway.
Dubai's Trade Centre stands alone as the only high rise with the newly constructed Trade Centre Apartments the only residential buildings on that side of the highway.
